Too much feedback on my Jackson King V!

I get too much feedback when playing my Jackson KV2 with Floyd Rose.
I use a Marshall JVM with a Tubescreamer and a ISP Decimator Noisegate and when I play my Bareknuckle or EMG equipped guitars with fixed bridges I don't get a lot or no feedback...

On the Jackson however I get excessive feedback (also active EMGs). What can I do to get the guitar a bit more silent?
Rubber Foam under the pickups?!? Aluminum foil in the tremolo spring cavity?!?

Increasing the Noisegate isn't an option as it cuts harmonics if I close the gate any further...
A guy at a guitar store said it could be due to the metal-pickuprings; would changing to plastic ones help me with my feedback problem?

could be, but I never use trem guitars so can't really say.

On all my the guitars I have with trems I put a small sponge pad placed beneath the springs to stop them resonating.

I don't know what you're on about....EMGs are some of the quietest humbuckers ever!

Just stating my experiences with them, clearly they're not your experiences - never said anything about them being noisy, just that they feedback quite easily when other passive guitars don't.

Are we talking squealy/howly microphonic feedback when you mute the strings or do sustained notes drift into harmonic feedback quicker/more readily?

It's like I get instand feedback the second I am not playing  :?
I can't even play breaks because it instantly howls when I stop all the strings...

OK, it's probably more down to the combination of a bright guitar (well, my[/i] KV2 is v.bright) + high output bright pickups + high gain amp = a guitar that's more prone to squealing.

Happy to be corrected, but I seriously doubt that the pickup bezels have anything to do with this?  :?

I have the same issue with my holy divers in my hard tailed Ibanez RGD321 it just squeals when the volume knob is turned on even when hold the strings silent with my hand. Even if I'm playing I can hear the squeal at the same pitch trying to fight through. It drove me nuts I killed the gain so much and had to use a PEQ to cut the frequency a few DBs. It happened with the neck and bridge pup so I'm assuming it's just the design that doesn't agree with my setup.

When you go from passive PUs (BKPs) to EMGs, usually you have to dial back the gain on the amp.

A few people have mentioned various things. Here's a checklist that worked for me (I had this problem extensively and have a similar setup to you).

1) Drop the pickup height away from the strings. Yes, it's lower output. Do it anyway, it will help massively with the feedback problem.

2) Lower gain on the amp.

3) Get a noise suppressor/gate - you've done this too.

4) Put rubber/foam material behind ALL springs - including those in the pickup mounting ring. I found most recently that the springs either side of the pickup were vibrating and making a hell of a noise (because they're close to the pickup so were getting amplified too!!!). Same goes for springs of the bridge, and also worth damping the strings behind the nut - I found that they were ringing a LOT, especially with certain strings and not others, and this was adding to the problem.

Hope these tips help. But yeah, drop the pickup height a bit :)
