Leaving for my sabbatical, wish me luck!
« on: February 25, 2010, 07:38:22 PM »
Hey all,

Most of you on the boards recognize though I've been gone for almost two months now.  Been busy with family and work and such. Tonight I'm boarding a bus for California and going a journey for who knows how long.  The last few years of my life have sorta gone down the tube.  In essence,, I'm throwing away everything trying to find something; who knows what will that be?  For now, its just me and my trusty guitar, along with some other essentials.

Wish me luck!

All the very best mate.  :)

I went through a long period like that in the 70s and 80s.  When you do find that special something , that expression of who you are - your Raison d'Etre,  it turns out to be inside of you, where you set off from.  As a great fun adventure, enjoy it with gusto - and look forward to many happy stories and memories for your later years. If it's to escape an emptiness, and a sense of wasted time - it travels with you like a hungry ghost.

Watch this , I thought of it when you posted :

Travel safe, have fun and leave the meaning to reveal itself in the by and by : we need life's journeys to give us an excuse to come home.

Stay in touch .  :D

Queue music from the Littlest Hobo.

Good luck on your travels, and I hope you find what you're looking for.

Queue music from the Littlest Hobo.

Maybe tomorrow, I'll want to settle down,
Until tomorrow, I'll just keep moving on.

Made me think of that soppy music they played at the end of every episode of The Incredible Hulk, too.

Best of luck, Captain.  I've never been brave enough to do what you're doing.  Even if you don't find what you're looking for, enjoy the journey and make the most of it!  :)

thanks everyone,

I've arrived safely in San Francisco so I'll simply have to see where it goes from there.

When I arrived safely in San Fransisco I found the xxx bars on Market Street.  That's a good place to start IMO :D

Don't go to the Western Addition end though. I got lost one night and ended up there, scary!
