Cold Sweat bridge does modern death metal
« on: March 06, 2010, 04:13:06 PM »
Hey guys,

I did a death metal mixtests earlier, using the bridge Cold Sweat in my Blackmachine B2 (tuned to Eb standard) into an Axe-FX Ultra, direct to my interface. The CS can certainly bring the brootalz!

Cheers!

Adam

P.S, there's no bass guitar in there yet!

That's what abuse of open position b5 chords will do for you

sounds great - I love Cold Sweats, they're up there as one of my fave BKPs and they're more versatile than you might imagine too.

Cheers dudes!
The Cold Sweat is definitely a versatile beast, this same guitar destroys for mid-gains and cleans too. I'll have an MM-equipped custom 6er in the next couple of months, it'll be interesting to see just how much more brutal that is

Damn, Nolly; as an avid fan of death metal I have to say I'm thoroughly impressed by both the riffage and the mix. It sounds aggressive as hell! As I'm sure you know, unfortunately the vast majority of death metal is lacking in terms of tone and production and you've managed to nail both. I can't wait for my spot on the waiting list to come up as I will certainly use my bm to make quality DM!

Do you have a longer clip of this serious riffage ?

DM isn't my usual jam, so it's great to know that the mix and riffage is up to scratch. There isn't any more I'm afraid, they were just two riffs I quickly knocked together to tweak.
Will definitely post up the experiences of the MM when the guitar is built.. It'll be a couple of months yet though!

Nah, though I am waiting on a fanned 7 from Doug, ordered May '08..
This one is from Dæmoness Guitars. It'll be a burl-topped, 27-fret superstrat, MM bridge, Sinner in the neck. Should be tasty pie.

I see, I didn't know Doug offered multi-scale 7's; I may have to request one my self. I thought the Daemoness was going to be a 7 with a quilt top? Unless your getting 2 seperate ones lol.

Yeah, he hasn't done one before, but he is keen. The idea is to reduce the scale on the treble side, rather than extending the bass strings, it'll be a 24"-25.5" fan. Still tuned regular, but should make for very sweet sounding upper registers, while still clear in the low end. Also, it should facilitate wide stretches, which will be good fun I'm sure.

I am getting two from Dæmoness, the first is a 7-stringer, the recipient of the quilt top which is going to be started in the next fortnight or so. The 6er should be next in line after that.
