joan jett sig melody maker

Tried one of these and thought it was actually quite a cool guitar. Rather resonant, well put together. The relicing was completely phony, but nevertheless for the money its a top notch punk rock axe. I think it might be nicer with no 'relic' job..

I like it - very much like my '65 - but the slim-taper neck puts me off.

I once saw a really nice old Greco Joan Jett Melody Maker on eBay (an unofficial signature model, presumably).  White, two humbuckers.  I'd just decided to buy it but someone beat me to it.  Keep hoping they'll decide to sell it again eventually.

I have to say, the paint jobs on these and the budget LP Juniors are horrible.  They look and feel like Dulux undercoat and the "ageing" is pathetic.  I'd feel obliged to beat the sh!t out of it, just to make it look a bit better.
