VHII bridge does heavy rock powerchords
« on: March 09, 2010, 07:39:45 PM »
Hey guys,

I've been tweaking a mix towards a heavy radio rock style, and I ended up using my Kramer Baretta with its VHIIs (though this is all the bridge pickup only).
"Amp" is a Fractal Audio Axe-FX Ultra, using the "Recto New" amp model into a RedWire Mesa Recto 4x12 impulse. All parts are double tracked.

Nice sounds again Nolly, sounds like the new Alice In Chains material, how much tone tweaking is taking place on your cpu? or is the tone pretty much the axe fx as is.

Cool, thanks!
There is some post-EQ in the DAW, but nothing that couldn't be replicated with a parametric EQ on the Axe-FX.
I tend to use post-EQ in Logic for ease of fine-tuning the sound, then copy that into axe with an EQ block at the end of the patch signal chain.
