Not sure what kind of amp Phil uses there but I can hear similarities, especially in the attack.

i don't have much love for the piledriver personally. i've recently endorsed The Boss on here for a tele pickup since I prefer it alot. but even The Boss is not that telecaster-ish, even if it does sound very cool (its great for 80s hard rock and metal for example). i found the piledriver is a bit too compressed for me - imagine it like a sort of telecaster warpig IMHO. my next BKP will most likely be a BG50.

i read your text, and I think BG50 too, considering all the styles you want. BG50 has the raw grunt, and its still got the fender twang.

Wow and thank you so much! You guys are all super helpful! =) And yeah im leaning to the BG 50 flats now, just last question. How articulate are they? Do they really cut through? Especially with distortion?  Such as if i strum all 6 strings can you hear them all even when using a fuzz pedal? Because that's how my pickup use to be then somehow it lost all its tastiness. When i'd use my big muff and strum a chord you could hear every single string and i loved that, that definition and articulation so just trying to find out. Also do you think this pickup would be a good match up for humbucker in the neck that reads(according to the website) DC Resistance: Neck: 7.6 k & Resonant Peak:7.1 KHz    and has Alnico II's in it?
