Any ESP players?

I'm looking for input on an old model called a Maverick.  There is an LTD version called the MV.  It looks like a typical ESP style guitar, but has a few oddball specs, such as a 24.75" scale.

Anybody played or owned one?

Also, has anybody played or owned the LTD M-1 Tiger?  I've wanted one for forever, but can't afford the ESP.  They've got the same specs, and all the other high end LTDs are really nice, so...

the 24.75 scale is the same as a Les Paul. Strats typically have 25.5" scale, and PRS (certainly used to) have 25" scale. many of the old superstrat guitars had the 24.75" scale.

DO NOT BOTHER WITH LTDs!!! They are rubbish.

The M-II is the updated version of the Mirage Custom. This guitar has the BODY SHAPE, NECK HEEL, CUTAWAY, and NECK PROFILE that were incorporated in most of the Lynch models.

Take my word for it, this guitar is the way to go for metal.

M-IIs go on ebay for around $500 on a regular basis, correct?  

Also, this is gonna be my one and only solid-body for awhile, so if I can have one and only one, should I go maple or rosewood?

The 24.75" scale isn't a dealbreaker, but I like to tune down sometimes, so 25.5" is definitely preferred.

have to disagree with TO about LTDs...

when the EC-1000 LTDs came out, i paid $999 including UK shipping  for one in a sale on a USA guitar shop website, they listed at $1199 (or £1199 in the UK Esp catalogue!).. in pounds it came to about £650 inc VAT... the price of a battered 2nd hand LP Studio (owned one of these...) or a top range epiphone (owned one of these too!).

It was great, decent hardware & EMG electronics, good inlay work and decent fret job. Only the small imperfections in the binding (the odd mark on the white) gave it away as being anything but a much more expensive guitar!

Loved it, i sold it for a good profit on ebay about 5months afterwards and bough a Musicman Silhouette. (now THAT was a good axe!)...i wish i never!!!! One of the nicest guitars i've ever owned (and i've averaged 2-3 guitars per year for the last few years lol).

For the money it couldnt be beat... i dont doubt ESPs are better in the build quality & woods.. got to justify the huge price increase, but for people who cant\dont want to spend thousands, theres nothing wrong with a LTD imo!!

I agree that LTDs aren't cr@p, and definitely have provided me with some extremely affordable stuff.  However, after scouring ebay, and some used sites, 80's ESPs can be had for WAY less than a new LTD, so I think I'll be going that route.
