London to Brighton Bike Run 2010
« on: March 20, 2010, 08:11:23 PM »
This year i'm taking part in the LBBR, and fortunately it's with a few mates, so it'll make it a more fun experience! 54 miles from Clapham Common to Madiera Drive, Brighton, with a 1 mile climb just 4 miles from the end.... gonna be tough for sure, but it's really nice to get out on the bike again, and i'm looking to get a road bike in the next couple of weeks. A perfect opportunity to get back into shape too, especially as cycling is something I really enjoy doing :)

Anyone else thinking of/doing the bike run this year?

I'd rather die than attempt such a thing, but a friend of mine is doing it.

Did it today, took 4hrs 5mins which i'm really pleased with as my first attempt-- no walking either, which was my main goal for the journey :) It would have been <4hrs if I hadn't had to get my rear tyre topped up with air, which took 15mins because of the queues! Was thoroughly good fun, and i'd highly recommend it to anyone-- just set off in an early group, because after about 7:00, there's a bit too much congestion :)

Hmmm, just realised my friend Claire was supposed to be doing this, but I was round there for dinner last night and she didn't disappear anywhere in the early hours of this morning.  I guess she changed her mind.

Well done Oli!  :D

You must have worn her out, you dirty dog... I bet she's probably pretty saddle sore today!
