Fair point!  He doesn't seem to do much any more though?

Didn't he jam with Clapton on his RAH DVD?

Not sure JB would be that good improvising, DK would blow him away  ;)

I'm sure as Joe B was jamming with people like Danny Gatton when he was 12 he could manage just a little bit of improvisation :).

I agree, I don't think we should cast any aspersions over Joe B's ability to improvise!

Most blues-based players can jam till the cows come home if you give them some hackneyed chord progression - even I can, for $%&#'s sake! (I'm not saying it would be good to listen to... )  :P

Speaking of Mr B, Sandi Thom was on BBC Breakfast this morning and apparently he's made a guest appearance on her new album.

Well, that may mean at least one track on her new album is listenable, as long as they don't bury Joe in the mix ;-)

She described the whole album as "blues rock" (yeah, I didn't believe it either).  Then she sang her single - live on the BBC Breakfast sofa - and I must admit it wasn't half bad.

Apparently she spent a couple of weeks last year acting as the singer in Bonamassa's band because he lost his voice.

Just had a listen to the song with JB on it (here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h2-bGQMQUbA) and I'll concede that it's actually good.

She's got a pretty good bluesy voice, and if the rest of the album sounds like that she'll be onto a good thing.

There is some stuff on Youtube of her singing with Bonamassa too, worth a look if you've some time to kill!

It's alright, isn't it?

Must admit I got distracted by all the clips of Bonamassa playing with Glenn Hughes....

I saw his album in HMV, and as i had a £20 voucher in me pocket, I picked it up. Put it on in the car on the way back, and so far (up to track 6), it's great! Funnily enough, I thought that he looked familiar-- he popped into the studio a few weeks ago to pick up a guitar :)

Love the tones, the songs are great-- i much prefer this album to JB's Black Rock, that just misses the mark for me, both in sound and the songs themselves.

Is unfortunately giving me wildly unreasonable PRS GAS though!!

She was supporting Bonamassa when Matt, Twin and myself saw him in Llandudno last year. All I can remember from her set is camel toe.
