I need a pickup for my '67, the one i have died and lost its umph.  I was thinkin something brighter in the bridge anyways. Tonally wise i'm thinkin Matilda Mother or Lucifer Sam by Pink Floyd but maybe even slightly girth-ier? Those would be good examples of the sound i'm trying to describe or anything pretty much by the Dirty Pretty Things. That kinda rowdy punchy attack; but still a bright attack. It almost attacks you literally lol
When someone suggested the country boy it got me thinkin how i kinda pushed to the side every other pickup BKP made other then the piledriver! lol =] So i listened to the sample of the country boy on youtube, it sounded good but i knew id probably end up not gettin on with em, so i clicked on the brown sugar. That one sounded real good, what i was kinda lookin for; but thats just one sample ya know? How bout the boss? You think they could pull off a bit of Syd action? =] Or even Joe Walsh, i just thought about him. The intro to Life's Been Good, it's bright but has girth  ~shrug~ lol i dont know how else to describe it. Oh well =) (If the Pink Floyd throws you off more so Dirty Pretty Things and Joe Walsh) Only other thing i can think to mention is when i palm mute i'd want it to not just be plunky id want it bright but still hittin down in the bass registries. Hope this all makes sense =)

I suggested Brown Sugar for your bright crunchy sound before and still think it is what you need for this.

Yeah wow sorry PhilKing! Well the last time you suggested it i wanted bright crunch but heavy balls too. But now for this one i just want straight bright crunch! You ever play with them? Let me know man, thanks! Thanks for the suggestion  as it is anyways man =) And if i had the gas id drive on over and give em all a rip! lol too bad... too bad...  And then where would you place the boss compared ot the brown sugar?  The boss is more hair metal and mid's-ish?

My day job is as the Gilmour in a Pink Floyd tribute act, and I bought the Blackguard bridge pickup for my Esquire (used on early Floydian tunes, Run Like Hell, and Young Lust) - and I never looked back.  In my opinion, it is perfect.  It's bright and punchy, but still able to sound sweet.  Really something :)

The boss is brighter and more powerful than the brown sugar.  The blackguards are intersting, with some nice push, but for what you want if you go blackguard, then I would look at the stagger pole to give that Tele push, rather than flatpole.

I had the blackguard and it was a really nice tele pickup. Not what i want, its very traditional. I want something rowdy and obnoxious =) Yet not overly bright just like i said early pink floyd, dirty pretty things that kinda sound. Carl Barat of the dirty pretty things uses either a Melody Maker or a Mustang so if that is any idea... Also Joe Walsh life's been goo to be type tone.  So PhilKing you'd say the brown over boss? What kinda tunes would you say boss would be doin what kinda vibes?

Melody Maker pickups are more along the lines of a P-90, in that the magnets are underneath and they have slugs between the coils.  The new wind black guard bridge is a 10K Alnico V pickup but more of a rocky/blusier sound than the Piledriver.  When I was thinking about a new Tele pickup and was looking for something of a Roy Buchanan sound, Tim had suggested the boss.  In the end I got the Black Guard flat poles.  I still think for what you are looking for that the Brown Sugar is the pickup, but it might also depend on the amp you're using.

Yeah i heard some sound samples on some foreign website and it does sound what im lookin for, kinda thinner but still got some umph, nice and bright though. I'm using a blues junior but my ideal amp sound is an ac30 which i can get pretty convincingly out of my blues junior that warm but bright crunch. And the guitar(this could matter) is a maple on maple neck with a swamp ash body so i dont know if that will make the brown sugar brittle or if it will be just right im thinking the later. Hit me up thank you =)
