Obviously Steve has to access ALOT of different tones and needs different p/ups to do this............one model will never do everything in ever guitar, however the aim of the RY is for a medium hot humbucker with attitude, plenty of clarity and weight in the lower mids.
That's fabulous -- sounds like the RY could be a great "heavy rock" pickup (as opposed to something with either an authentically vintage PAF vibe or with a raging metal vibe). Very intriguing! I look forward to hearing more about (and hopefully from) this pickup as it firms up. :D
