Me too - Manchester Apollo on the Dream Evil tour in 1987.  Fantastic vocalist & frontman, I was a little young for his Rainbow & Sabbath days but I loved his early solo work.  One of my early heroes.

Wow, thats terrible news - couldn't have been that old.  Its a reminder to live for today coz you never know when your time is up.

I just read the news on another forum.

I didn't see this coming so I'm shocked. In rock you die at 26 or you live to grow very old.

He was 67.  I hope I'm still rocking when I'm in my 60s...

Such a shame - I remember seeing Dio in the 80s when I used to accompany my metal teen friend to gigs to please his dad.  I hated metal then but I remember that the Dio gig was a great gig and Ronnie had real presence for such a short guy.  He was great on South Park too.
