Well, my cigar box guitar is no more :( ...................
..................... Because I've pulled it apart and I'm rebuilding it :D
So far I've reshapped the headstock into something whcih looks rather like the blackmachines one. The old CBG was really neck heavy, so I needed to get as much weight off there as possible. I need to refinish the neck and I'm thinking of covering the face of the headstock with brown leather.
I found an old plywood SG body in the shed with a neck pocket that's sort of a good fit (nothing that a bit of vaneer wont sort out) and I've cut it down to fit the new box. It needs a load more work, but it's now about the right size.
For the box, I've bought an old 1960's school case in fake brown snake skin. It's going to look wicked with a cream P90. Also got a piezo off a tuner which I'm going to use.
