Interval Game
« on: July 29, 2010, 03:41:43 PM »

Have a go at this and see what score you can get...

http://www.hotfrets.com/chords/guitar_interval_game.asp

I got 330 legit but 560 by learing to cheat.

Ha, ha!  First go -- 90!!!

Will waste a few more minutes getting my score up.

Never heard of a "tri tone" before...

Diminished 5th

Tritone because two tones seperated by 3 tones.

^ that makes sense.  I'd use "diminished" or "augmented" for artificial scales.

Just got 290 for random clicking!

460 now

I dont like it that you can reset the time but it keeps the score....that must be how people have got scores like twelvty gajillion, because I just dont see how thats possible otherwise, unless it doesnt score linearly with time taken (like you get 10 points for taking 2 seconds but 500 for taking half a second).

Yeah, the time should be set.  I found I could cheat by running my finger accross the numbers 1-8 quickly alternating shift every other time and pressing t when thing stopped.

But cheating aside, it is pretty handy for interval knowledge, first thing I noticed was I knew them really well on EAD but pretty shoddy on GBE so it's helped with that....

Funny you mention that; I play in drop B 95% of the time, and the rare occasions I go back to standard format (C# in my case, obviously) it confuses me....unless I'm playing acoustic, which is also very rare, but it feels weird for them to be anything but standard to me

But this I just automatically thought of it in standard

750 points. C'mon, someone beat me before I get bored and therefore have poorer interval training than I could have!

My mate told me about it, so I er acquired it, it's a load of rubbish, just do plenty of intense cardio up to an hour a day and eat right.

Anyway, yeah, I just want to know if I still suck or not really. 780s the score to beat lads, and I daresay its really easy cos I'm still having to think about a lot of them and still maiking plenty of mistakes, but have nothing to calibrate against. Where have all the musos gone?

Tried it earlier, wasn't at home, so had cr@ppy mouse got 250, not used to mouse acceleration

I'll do one later with the overly competitive ex "semi pro" fps gaming setup now with added 1:1 pixel to sensitivity tracking that makes no difference in windows ;)
