This is one stupid post, but I just can't help myself and have to ask.

Women are notorious for buying A LOT of shoes and supposedly guys don't really get this fettish.

I think me and Jonathan do. Albiet not shoes I'd wear.

Guess my own guitar's inlays give the game away on that front

But death to flip flops and ugly shoes!

I probably have as many shoes as guitars but I have many guitars to be honest

I'm a bit of a hoarder too, I've got about 4 pairs of boots that are all knackered with holes, muddy festival boots, 2 pairs of dress shoes, knee high newrocks I used to wear for metal nights, tend to stick to my converse but they are on their way out so I'll get another pair soon.

One thing I do have a thing for is jackets!!! (er buying one tomorrow)

Maybe, but only because I still have shoes that I dont wear any more still kicking around

baddum tsshh

I have 4 main electrics, 1 thats good enough to be a main guitar but its not wired up at the moment and I dont like the scale (24.75 ewwwww), 1 bass, 1 acoustic and 1 tat guitar

Anywho, yeah, I think they do, but I have 2 functional pairs of shoes - one main pair that I wear 99.9% of the time (basic decent quality walking shoes) and one pair of smart shoes.

So its either about equal or 4:1

I should bin the other shoes, thanks for the reminder.

I loose this game I think... or do i win?

I'm only in this situation because I never throw anything away! I like to have a few pairs of footwears that i can not care about... you know... paddle in the sea at brighton while wearing or something...

Guitar
Les Paul Custom
EC-1000 (for sale!)

Shoes
Timberland Boots (the classic style... think mid 90's hiphop videos involving a burning oil drums and scenes of Brooklyn)
Timberland Boat Shoes (a good summer look with the added bonus of grip on wet wooden stages!)
Nike Air Max Lights (Blue/Grey man made materials. A poors mans Air Max 1)
Air Max 1's (yellow/grey a bit bright for me these days)
Air Max 360's (Infra Red - NUTTIN' but bubble on these suckers!)
New Balance 574's (OLD and battered but making there way back into my regular rotation)
New Balance 554's (very worn out, the soles are almost rock solid. good to have if i want to do gardening or something)
Steel Toe Boots (had to get them for work... worn them once)

Guitars:
Patrick Eggle
Tanglewood Acoustic
Cigar Box Guitar (or more acurately.... Suitcase Guitar)

Shoes:
Quite a few as the wife occassionally buys me some to try and mask the fact that she buys bloody loads of them.
Advice worth what you just paid for it.

just to check, as i'm rubbish at chucking stuff out, old shoes don't count, right? Certainly if we're counting new(ish) shoes that are in current rotation, i have way more guitars

My girlfriend says I don't need to have 5 guitars with only 2 hands to play them.
She has over 50 pairs of shoes and 2 feet

I have more guitars (10 or so) than pairs of shoes (4).

I don't mind ladies buying shoes, at least not pretty ones. It is the handbag obsession that I do not get.

FWIW, I did a count & can confirm that I'm on the "right" side of this crucial equation:
Guitars=28, Shoes=17
BKPs: HD, MM, NB, PK, CS, Ab (b&n); Am (b only); VHII, Tril (n only); IT, Slow, Sult (m&n)
