Favourite Guitar Instumental

Just wondering what is your favourite piece of (possibly obscure) guitar instrumental music?

(For the love of god is banned for obvious reasons )

This is mine...

For me, it's this:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cOeB4oANTVg

After all these years , it just seemed to epitomise the signpost  between where I had been - and was now heading musically .   A ( seemingly ) simple , but enduring and somewhat  illustrative composition ;  originally intended to be developed as a full blown song - but the instrumental version took on a life of it's own.  I first saw it tagged on the end of a tuitional video ( hence the unfortunate clothes and hairstyle of that era   )  .  Look beyond the less than spectacular visual presentation - and get into the heart of it.  It builds slow - but develops nicely, with the player's  very characteristic subtletly. 8)

For me it is the late Davey Graham's version of She Moved Through the Fair, the original DADGAD tune:

I'm afraid all the obscure things have to fall to a bit of good old 'tallica - to live is to die or orion, depending on my mood.

But if I'm allowed I'll pick the whole of Russin Circles, Enter.

In particular, the main solo (2:23-3:28)  :o

or perhaps Joe Satriani "Flying in a blue dream"

thats ones constantly listenable antag, great choice.

i wondered about something by 'the shadows' or 'call of kutulu', i don't listen to a whole heap of instrumental stuff.

then i decided it was this old chestnut:

edit: i'm listening to this schenker instrumental abit lately. obscure stuff: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H-C_pA6WyfA

Nothing obscure, in fact pretty obvious, but these sprang immediately to mind:

Then this:

Then this (just one track, but actually I want to include the whole album... not exactly guitar either):

But I think my favourite instrumental is actually this.  Short and sweet.

BKPs I've Got:  RR, BKP-91, ITs, VHII, CS set, Emeralds
BKPs I Had:  RY+Abraxas, Crawlers, BD+SM

Good call Ratrod ; thanks for reminding me of that gem !   :D

I also have the 'B.S.O. Live In Japan' DVD - and it is of course masterful throughout.  With all respects to Larry Carlton, I think your nomination of BSO / Sleepwalk beats my own opening choice by a mile.  It just covers all bases of feel, tempo - and most of all is just  bl**dy good old fashion entertainment .  8)

At this moment in time, I'm loving the Instrumental segues on Baroness' "Blue Record", and the live version of "Grad" from the bonus disc. Not intricate or particularly challenging guitaring, but dammit if it isn't lovely altogether.
