OH MY GOD USPS
« on: October 02, 2010, 04:25:04 AM »
Oh my god guys, how useless can someone be!

So over a month ago I ordered a Mule neck pickup from Bare Nuckle Pickups for a good friend. It was for his birthday, which we celebrated yesterday. It didn't get here, and neither has the replacement. What the $%&#? I called USPS about a week ago about the status for the original pickup (package A), to which they told me exactly what their website says, but if I wanted to, I can contact BKP about this issue so that a Lost claim could be placed on the order and an investigation could be conducted.

So I do that, I email up BKP and tell them my plight, to which not only do they place a lost claim on package A, but they build me a replacement pickup(Package B) and ship it off free of charge! That alone has placed my faith in BKP. They want me to have this mule pickup, they are detirmined to have my satisfactiona and oh how I would love to give it to them.

But no matter how great company BKP might be, there's always something that comes into the equation to muck everything up. In walks-in GODDAMN USPS telling me that package B has not been recieved and that I should essentially has premiscuous sexy time with myself.

So basicly after reading the same update on the status of my package for the past few days (read as 3) I got paranoid about weither this thing got lost as well. So I called up USPS Help desk to see what the deal is. I get NOTHING. NO NEW INFORMATION AS TO WHERE ANYTHING MAY BE.

"Hello sir, how may I help you?"
"Yes, I like to find out more information about the whereabouts of my package."
*gives her the tracking number*
"Well okay sir, says here we haven't recieved it yet."
"Yes, I saw that on your websit-"
"Well then sir you have the lastest information on your package."
"Wait... your saying you use the website to keep track of orders. Don't you have a database or something more accurate to go off of?"
"The website is the database."

 :wallbash:

I've kind of give'en up hope on all this. I mean my friend has merit when he told me he'd never use that infernal postal service again, and I can see why. Just based on my experience, everything is slow and the updates are OUT OF DATE. Not to mention the outrageous prices you have to pay for stuff that won't even make it on time.

Long story short. $%&# USPS, no more.

Bare Nuckle, if this next pickup doesn't come through, what will happen? Can I pay you guys to just use fedex or something? Will there even be a third atempt, I was planning on buying alot of stuff from you guys, but if I can't even get it, what's the point?

Where are you in the States?  I regularly get BK deliveries in Hoboken.
So many pickups, so little time

I had ordered direct from BKP, I don't think there's any shops around here that know about Bare Knuckle.

But this is allblown over now. The replcaement pickup just arrived yesterday, and it looks great. Had a good weight to it too.

I guess next time, I'm just going to pay extra for shipping, that way I don't have to deal with the bullshitee of USPS.

Thanks Bare Knuckle!

We recently had a similar problem over here - ordered replacements right as the originals showed up! You might end up with two pickups at the end of the day. It seems somewhere over the Atlantic pickups get lost and then found weeks later!

that sucks, brother
USPS also vanished with a bunch of elixir strings sets I bought on ebay
they don't keep the records for first class mail type stuff anymore
their services used to be a lot faster, more reliable and much cheaper about 3 years ago

I'm sure everyone here as a story about shipping stuff overseas.  Fwiw, I've never had a problem with USPS.

However, UPS were bloody awful - I send an amp to the US, booked it all over the phone.  They collected it, the guy got the amp and everything was fine - until they sent me a bill for the EXTRA since they had mistakenly sent it on their overnight most expensive service.  I had only booked and paid over the phone for their expedited service as I had previously used this service and it generally only took around a week.  Of course there were many heated words over this and I point blank refused to pay, they even sent the debt collectors round.  Total and utter scum!!!  If you're wondering, no I didn't pay - I assume they must've written it off at some point and it's probably on my credit file somewhere.

Well, now that all the maddness is over, I think it's time for more pickups.

I'm thinking about getting another Mule neck pickup for my Les paul, my friend really likes the one he got. And then maybe a VHII neck and Painkiller bridge for my Carvin DC127.

Wow, what dumbasses. Charging customers for things they didn't order is something that really makes me mad. My bank tried that on me once with some services they thought I'd need.
