Problems with amp delivery
« on: October 09, 2010, 06:10:06 PM »
I bought an amp from guitarguitar.co.uk and paid for it to be delivered today. I phoned them up to tell them there's been a problem and was told I would be refunded the money if it didn't arrive today.

I'm fine with that but now I can't see what's going on with my amp, I don't know what depot it's, nothing. I'm using the same details as before.

Any one else had problems with this company?

I'm sure it will be fine, they will sort it.  They are reputable and you will be fully covered.

Don't freak out. Give it a few more days and it will come. Those tracking systems aren't up to speed quite often and get updates many hours after an event has occured.

Just relax and wait, everything else is wasted energy.

I just got a call from Guitarguitar and it looks as though the courier has misrouted the amp. So they're chasing it up looking for answers.

Bad news, the courier has lost my amp. I don't quite know how you lose a 2 x 12 combo, a letter I can understand but not a box that's quite heavy.

Guitarguitar have apologised and they're going to look into possibly sorting me out with a Jet City JCA20 combo.

is 20 watts loud enough for playing heavy music? 20 watts clean is no problem but I wonder about distortion.

I'd wager it's not lost, it's stolen.

What amp was it you bought in the 1st place if you don't mind my asking?

Laney VC30 2 x 12.

I think it's been stolen too, you just don't lose something like that.

Main reason I asked is that they seemed pretty quick to offer up the Jet City combo. How does that value against the Laney you actually paid for?

What happened to the refund they mentioned before?  That's got to be the best option for you (but not them), unless the Jet City is worth more than the Laney.

The Jet City is £349 new and I paid £299 used for the Laney. They asked if I wanted a refund or if there was anything else I would want and I mentioned the Jet City combo so they're shipping that out today and I should get it tomorrow.

If I'm not happy with it, it's going back and I'll get a refund and look else where.

ah ok, if what you're getting is worth more, fair enough.

I would say maybe don't worry too much yet (you've done everything right by contacting them), the last tokai i bought took about a week longer to arrive than it should have, and it turned up eventually.

I'd wager it's not lost, it's stolen.

Or maybe it got sold twice!
And only one person could have it..............
