Fancy a brand new American PRS for £700??
« on: November 09, 2010, 05:50:25 PM »
I stumbled on this the other day - DV247/Digital Village have a big consignment of PRS Mira X, Starla X and Starla X Soapbar models with prices starting at £699!

http://www.dv247.com/news/American%20PRS%20for%20Under%20%C2%A3700/132600

The "American PRS for Under £700" headline is a little misleading - some are priced at £699 (if you don't mind your guitar in, say, Olive Green or Grandma Hannon Pink), others are £749 or £799.  Still great prices!  :D

I'd been told that Headline Music weren't going to be importing any Starla X models, so this was a bit of a surprise.  I don't know if this is a DV247 exclusive or if they're just first and the UK market is about to be flooded with cheap PRSes.... but snap one up while you can, I'd say!

Nice find.

I really wanted to get excited about this (having some money in the bank and feeling the need to spend) but after looking and thinking 'i could have a bargain here' it just hit home how much I don't like PRSi.

But guys, these are the PRS models for people who don't like PRS!  No maple tops, no birds, no bling!  The PRS equivalents of the Les Paul Jr and Les Paul Special!

Oh well, I like 'em anyway.

I've starting to like the Starla X more and more. Same with the Mira too. Already bought a PRS CE recently so I can't even think of getting one of those too  :x

I wouldn't fancy one for £20.

Other than to sell on, obviously. Even amongst PRS, all of which I dislike, those stand out as honking.

Well it doesn't look like Patrick Bateman's coffee table, nor a back of a napkin design that no one could decide a direction for  :P

It's a mere 700 quid, Ian......

As for Parkers... I always liked Dave Navarro's assessment:  "At least it sounds good"

PRS is not for me, but I've seen uglier guitars. Price is interesting.
Mules, VHII, Crawler, MM's, IT's, BG50's.
