you wouldn't use the meat knife on crusty bread but, equally, the serrated knife and straight edge knife aren't going to go through raw meat as quickly

As soon as I saw "curly maple" I wondered if it was one of those "The V" models.  I used to admire one in the window of Duck, Son and Pinker in Bath when I was a student.  Didn't have the money for multiple guitars in those days though....

Terrible photos, though, unfortunately.  And I don't think those pickup covers are original.  The one I remember looked like this:

BKPs I've Got:  RR, BKP-91, ITs, VHII, CS set, Emeralds
BKPs I Had:  RY+Abraxas, Crawlers, BD+SM

Yes I was wondering where the double cream Dirty Fingers were too. However, I have seen the odd 'The V'/'V CMT' with covered pickups. I don't know if T-Tops were an option, or if they are aftermarket replacements. they look like 80s Gibson pups of some kind though

I don't like the way the stop tail is so far back on these models, looks a bit odd.

I suppose it gives a slightly less steep angle over the bridge, so a bit like top-wrapping a normally-placed tailpiece.

But I suspect they did it as an afterthought, when they realised the volume control was too close to the normal tailpiece position.

Those are Schallers.  The guy says they're original, and I think Gibson have used Schallers in the past, but not usually with buttons that shape.  They're usually the tulip buttons like this:

BKPs I've Got:  RR, BKP-91, ITs, VHII, CS set, Emeralds
BKPs I Had:  RY+Abraxas, Crawlers, BD+SM

I think if I'd got started on those, I'd have saved quite a bit of money over the years :)
