pecuilia Bass string buzz

Hey guys i have had two basses over the last few days firstly the tanglewood warrior II which wasnt right for me at all so i took it back to the shop and got a partial refund + trade for a cheaper Shine J style bass which sounds awesome but has a peculiar buzz that i didn't notice in the shop.

Its the A string wherever its fretted it buzzes.

No other strings buzz at all checked fro loose screws things under the pickguard, strap buttons etc not a single thing is loose.

Could it be the string itself as the strings do feel very old & cr@ppy

The buzz seems to be coming from the back of the body/bridge but only when the a string is played

Truss rod mebbe? Try tapping the back of the neck while you have your ear pressed on to it somewhere...

Otherwise, you haven't mentioned it, but I assume you've checked the bridge? There's a lot of stuff that can rattle there, and it always seems worse on a bass in my experience.

Ive tapped the neck with my ear against it and theres a metallic kinda noise but thats coming from the bridge.

I have checked that everything is really secure on the bridge but upon closer inspection it does seem that its the bridge i just cant fathom what it is
