I have knackered my neck pickup.... HELP!!
« on: December 11, 2010, 09:57:18 AM »
I have a humbucker neck pickup ( not a BKP I must clarify ) that I really like along my BKPs.

Specs:

DCR: 7.6k at 20ºC
magnet: Long, polished Alnico 2 magnet
screw bobbin: 67 NOS wire
slug bobbin:heavy formvar
other: wound in opposite direction for OOP with bridge, no cover

I was messing with it trying different screws and magnets... and then pop... dead. Well almost... there's some tiny output but not much at all.
Beacuse I've recently moved I have no access to my multimeter but obviously there's hardly any juice coming out of it at all.

What could have gone wrong? I'm rather miffed to be honest.

I think the coil wire broke somewhere.
