Three Weeks Shipping Time Normal to the US?

I'm having real delays with international packages too, took nearly three weeks for my floyd rose to get here from the US and still waiting for parts from China over a month later.

I suspect US customs are holding everything up which has wires in it due to recent events."

When?  It's only recently things are taking 3 weeks, used to be around a week.

It is - but unfortunately I'm now in the wild winter landscape of West Yorkshire, so I can't try it out.  I did however get my Klone and Bravewood Precision, but realised that I don't have any valves in my amp, and there was a burst pipe in the studio yesterday, so I still haven't heard the pedal.

btw: the Bravewood was sent from Cornwall yesterday and arrived today via Parcel Force.  In the conditions we've been having that is great service.

i placed an order that was accepted on 11/22/2010 and this is what my tracking says

Your item, posted on 10/12/10 with reference #### has been passed to the overseas postal service for delivery in UNITED STATES OF AMERICA.

still haven received them =/

I'm afraid to say the postal delays are a combination of both the snow we've had here in the UK(and is now causing the same havoc in the East of America which is where all the inbound mail first touches down)and also the enormous volume of Christmas mail.
DHL, UPS, Fedex etc simply are not viable options for international shipping of small parcels - the cost is far too high to be workable. Interestingly we do use DHL here in Europe for large consignments for shops and guitar manufacturers whenever it is a cost effective service but during the snow we found most of their guaranteed services were suspended and delays often exceeded Royal Mail.
During the band weather all of the team here at BKP continued to make it into work everyday despite some of the guys having to walk considerable distances and we also walked all the mail out everyday to the local post centre to make sure that we didn't slip behind. We had a few delays with parts from our engineers not getting through because of the snow but managed to make the time up. Before we stopped for Christmas break we had made and shipped all orders with the exception of a Strat guard that never arrived on time along with orders that came in on Christmas eve(even I draw the line at working Christmas Eve :D).
Obviously if anyone has a parcel that doesn't show up for whatever reason, we'll chase it up through the online tracking and see what's going on and what can be done to resolve it although experience from past years shows that once we're the other side of Christmas the post system soon gets back to normal.

I can attest to BKP's diligence, I emailed the morning of December 16th with a tech question, Tim personally responded in less than an hour, I then placed my order which consisted of two single coils of which each had custom requirements for polarity and wind.  My order was handwound to spec and delivered to Royal Mail the next day December 17th.  :D

Royal Mail had my parcel passed on to the States for delivery just one day later on December 18th.  The delay is surely not BKP or Royal Mail.  The weather in the UK for December has been rough, there is the factor of all the local and international holiday mail, adding to that the weather in the Eastern States along with its holiday mail volume.

Also to address those in the States (as myself), there has been an agreement between the UK and US.  Assuming I've understood it correctly. . . mail leaving the UK bound for the US, for the time being, is to be loaded and transported by non-commercial flights.  I believe this process will come up to speed soon enough as it gets sorted and running smoothly.

Well, time for me to check the mailbox, could be the lovely smell of Cardas quad solder burning its sweet scent this evening in my boutique laboratory (well ok, on the cheap desk next to my bed).  :lol:
