Nolly's right. Warpigs! You can always boost if you think the low-end is too much.

I found a post on here from the guy who made that vid. he prefered the NB in the Fender in the end. his charvel was basswood. I think i read the strat was alder.

warpigs are still intimidating me.

i've been doing more forum searching and holy divers are popping into mind also.

that's WITH FULL DISTORTION

I'd consider the holy diver, but sounds like you're looking for something more aggressive

yeah.
I read all your posts about the HD vs the NB. very helpful!
I'm going to consider either, but after your comments, and the comments of other people using similar woods, the nailbomb is looking the favorite at the moment.

Just out of curiosity, what about them intimidated you? They sound like any other pickup, just with their own traits and quirks. They're not like some "untamable beast" that you can't work with for anything other than doom and sludge. That's just what people tend to make them out as, but they're very usable for many different styles. Obviously it's your choice, just don't get the wrong idea about the 'Pigs.

Partly the output, and partly the reported tone. for example, I don't want to end up with something that has way too much low end that would require me to use a treble booster. I also don't think I need something with such a high output reeeeally. I guess the tone and gain can be corrected at the amp.

I know Tim has a great returns policy and I could test drive it, but it's just a minor hassle to post stuff back.
I feel like I should have one just because... it's the warpig!

This is what I'm listening to along with Crown of Thornz, Coldfront, a little Maximum Penalty.
