Lovely maple cap - where are you getting your wood from (I am in the UK). I've built a couple of guitars from scratch and *need* to find some time to build another one (or three) :-)

Cheers,
Andy

search for wadkin1(seller name) or prime timbers(shop name) on ebay - he may not have maple listed at the moment - but is worth emailing to see what he has in stock (there is a lot of maple like this)

the neck wood was from david dyke

Thanks a lot - I'll look him up. I've used David Dyke before a couple of times...

My next project though has to be finishing head and speaker cabs for my home made amp (got some lovely cherry I need to find time to work on)...

Cheers,
Andy

Ps. Should have said earlier - your twin neck it looks absolutely amazing - very ambitious - looking forward to seeing it finished !!!

I think I prefer the bass controls in line. The other option might be too close behind the guitar bridge.    A third option might be to put the tone by the neck (sort of Gretsch like).  It looks phenomenal, the quilt is great.

+1  He has some great woods, and is a very friendly and helpful guy too in my experience.

Interesting instrument that one Wez!  I guess it's going to weigh something "interesting" too when it's all put together.  Ouch!

Sure it's not gonna be light, but after all you're playing the whole band. Btw, nice timbers.

That quilted maple is awesome! Are you thinking of staining or applying a dye?

How do you liking the Bocote? Tried to get a neck blank from Gilmerwood once and the conversation ended wrongly in a argument :? They told me it wouldn't be stable and if warmoth did it I should buy it from them...

Awesome the quilted maple on the double neck! That is a major figure for sure! Envious as a kid watching someone with ice cream :(

bocote is fine for necks and fretboards.  it doesn't usually have the straightest grain but its plenty strong enough

last time i used it i forgot just how oily it could be and it did not glue properly... i am just typing that to remind myself not to do it again;)

That guitar looks ... heavy. Great, but heavy.
