There's another clip on that same page called "Buckethead solo!" where he's just playing a melodic, soulful solo with awesome tone and tons of sustain.  No flash.  I always assumed he'd just do ridiculously fast incomprehensible Morse Code shredding.  Must find out more...

And he's playing an Ibanez Rocket Roll!  I'm not really an Ibanez fan, but those early 80s models like the Artist, Rocket Roll and Destroyer were beautiful things.

Problem with Buckethead is that he doesn't have enough variety WITHIN his albums - he is a master of all styles, but his albums swing between extremes too much, if only he could put acoustic ballads and thrash metal on the the same album.

That's why it's better to download! (Shhh! It's illegal! )

Agrees, i do love his Buckethead and friends album though, every song is awsome bar the rap one which just doesn't seem to fit the bill.

Also, apparently he did the music fro Mortal Combat, if this is true then it makes him 4x as awsome

I have decided I cannot stand to watch buckethead, because the mask and bucket piss me off too much, I cant help but think "what a tw@t"

I have downloaded a few of his songs and they seem to be better than I thought.. although they seem a bit dull so far, Jordan was pretty cool. The song called Buckethead by Primus is better  8)

Damn, that Primus one is so cool, gotta love Les Claypool's retarded voice.

I love Buckethead, but for a guy who has put out 50+ albums (Yes, that's right, more than 50 albums!), you can't expect it all to be pure gold. Some albums you should just avoid.

But if you can tolerate slightly emo vocals, download Botnus, great little speed riff and great solo, which starts fast and then slows down a little and becomes really cool.

Oh, and:
Buckethead's mask = Strangely enigmatic.
Slipknot's masks = gay.

Everyone's masks = f*cking uncomfortable, I would imagine.

Muzzzz, I'm not a download kind of guy.  Is there any Buckethead album that's vaguely representative of everything he does?  Or maybe one that just shows off his melodic stuff?  I was thinking of getting the Secret Recipe DVD.

^Purely because of his Mask and KFC Bucket?

If so thats a very simplistic reason to dislike someone. but then chavs hate anyone with long hair so i guess it must be ok to hate people bassed on how they dress...

Arharhar that you tube vid was.... interesting

Seems perfectly reasonable to me...

If I see a guy with a dildo strapped to his head and a great pair of shoes I reserve the right to judge him and call him a c0ck for choosing to wear a dildo on his head...

Seems only fair to do it as it is simply the reverse of complementing him on his wonderful taste in shoes.

Any man who wears a KFC bucket on his head without endorsement or sponsorship cash (not to mention a William Shatner mask) is a pretty good ballpark description of a F*ck wit.

Non of the above comments have any relevance to his musicianship.
