The BD's will get you there. Also listen to RY-clips, they're awesome in a Les Paul.

Yeah! I'm happy they are what I'm looking for!

I read in this forum that Dan Hawkins used Cold Sweat during the ' One way ticket' tour, I'm gonna ask Tim what does he think is better.

I trust you :) Thank you

I'm gonna use this LP to play hard rock/metal, but I'd like something versatile and not only metal oriented; something that can also do heavy stuff with a LP sound.

Like this:

Riff Raff

that was easy :D

It seems I have to look at 'vintage hot' pickups, isn't it?

Which of these combos is better in a LP studio and can give me an important  upgrade?

- Mule/Black Dog
- Black dog
- VhII/Rebell yell
- Cold sweat/Nailbomb
- VhII/Nailbomb

I play on a marshall jvm, from blues to metal like Nickelback/Alter Bridge/ Puddle of Mudd/ Black Stone Cherry/Foo Fighters and hard rock like The Darkness.
FAT sound and Les Paul soul.

Thanks again

nailbomb is way too hot for most of that stuff, except alter bridge
you already have an amp that has twice the gain anyone could ever need

I'd stay under 10K
I symphatise with the black dog

Ahah, it's true :)
Thanks, I think they should make me happy!
BK (Ben) suggested me  Nailbomb some weeks ago, but I thought they were too hot for me ( he told me it is the best all round hard rock pickup), but black dogs seem to be better for music I like to play.

I have to try them

if you decide to go higher output, maybe for another guitar, I find the holy diver to be a better all rounder than the nailbomb (had both in les pauls)
fatter mids, smooth and less aggressive high end, not as much output, flawless clean tone

but I'll keep the black dog advice

I asked Tim again ( he's really really gently) and he suggested me Nailbombs again, so I think I'm gonna buy them.
i don't know if I'm gonna take a set or something else for the neck position...

Funny, my first reply was Nailbomb/Cold Sweat-neck. Then we lowered to vintagehot and now we're in contemporary terrority again. I love the Nailbomb-clips, think it's a very versatile pu. Matt Bellamy of Muse uses Nailbombs too.

Yes, I read that he has a MQ/NB combo...
The output of the NB should not be so different from my 498 too.

What about the leg length and bridge spacing for my LP? I'm gonna change pot too, 500k or custom 550?
Thanks
