I pity the Parrot so much, being forced to listen to appalling mainstream Yank metal

I presume it's the parrot clip? Can't open the links at the minute.

I was listening to a radio program a couple years back and the host, "Mojo in the Morning", was reporting on a study some college students had done regarding animals reaction to music. I can't remember for the life of me what band which animals liked/hated most, but I do remember that the dog group only reacted to Metallica and they hated it. They played other metal music to see if it was the genre, but no, it was only Metallica that made them go bonkers. I don't blame them. I also dislike Metallica.

Sorry to hear about the greyhound. That's tough after an op as well

My cat's affected by what I listen to.  Every time I hear pop music, I kick it.

Actually the best my cat will do is open its eyes and then go back to sleep again no matter what's on (or how hard you kick it)
Advice worth what you just paid for it.

The louder i crank the more the dog sleeps.

My dog is the same way. No matter where he is in the house, when I play he comes into the room and sleeps by me.......weird.

Nice dog.
On topic my dog comes and sits next to my amp when I'm playing. I've got footage somewhere of me using his head to catch an open harmonic and he just sits there happy as Larry (or Dallas as he's called)
