ask them to cover your losses (band practice), I think thats the least they can do - if not, investigate who you can report them to (before speaking with them) and mention that when you speak with the garage - Trading Standards perhaps?

I had the same happen once. Also the garage didn't tighten them up. shitee happens but worst outcome was prevented, so you were lucky ... or smart ... anyways, good nothing happened!

20 GBP for a rehearsal? That sounds expensive!

at the old place i used to use it was £28 for 3 hours!!

Luckily ive lucked in and found somewhere a heck of a lot better that does 4 hours for £23

in london its twice that for 3 hours depending on when or where you go. Camden tonight quoted £52 for 3 hours when someone called up.

reminds me of something I heard on an arty DVD. A record label guy talking about Rock, Punk etc... becoming populated by private school graduate from wealthy backgrounds who can (or whose parents) can afford to just throw money into what is essentially an expensive hobby. I can understand how someone would feel that way.

Are they steel wheels?

If so they probably tightened them to spec when they changed the front brakes, took it for a run and didnt retighten when they came back.

Steelies, especially with non vented discs are terrible for coming loose when changing brakes/discs, the brakes need a few hard stops to bed in and the discs cannot dissipate the heat so it goes into the wheel.

Alloys are ok, the act like a heatsink, and usually have vented discs.

its why british rock has been so lame for so long. the angry working class kids that made punk so fresh these days are probably hoody happy hardcore DJs.

maybe a discussion for another thread.
