I'm planning on selling some guitars in the coming weeks, two of which should sell in the £1500 region. The problem is I can't find any courier who will insure a parcel for over £1000!

Have any of you guys shipped a £1000+ guitar before? What did you do? Did you just ship insured for less??

Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I've shipped them insured for as much as I could, and packed them incredibly well!!!!

if I was spending more than a grand on a guitar and buying within the UK, I'd be driving to pick it up in person - problem solved.

This.

Probably not the answer you want though :)

Think you'll have to tell the buyers that it's up to them whether they're happy for you to insure it for only 1000 if it's worth more. Obviously you'll be packing it very well indeed to be safe, but you should cover yourself by making sure they're fully aware of the risks and are prepared to take those risks on. caveat emptor, after all.
