well, that's the aftermath
but I replaced the aftermath in my les paul custom with a holy diver, which is much much better for Tool, and although it's no near as hot as the aftermath, it has a similar voicing (I was expecting it to sound much darker)
and when I turn my vintage maxon GE601 on (I use the equalizer as a booster, like Adam Jones), in the same settings as I had with the aftermath, it sounds just as huge, but warmer and less scratchy while still very tight with the booster
for a Quickrod (or a Diezel as well), I'd definitely order a holy diver or nailbomb (which I also had in the same guitar) over a ceramic model
but if you're only interested in tightness + mids, then you want the aftermath or the painkiller
