I think they look terrible! The big pickguard just looks really cheap to me.

I think they look terrible!

There is always at least one Gibson fundamentalist who comes in to spoil the party  :P :D

Personally, I think Fender's designs lend themselves better to to this sort of thing than Gibsons - even the Gibson 'shapes', which should be malleable to modification, look like abominations, but the the Fenders, somehow, do not.
BKPS: Milks, P90s, Apaches, Mississippi Queens, Mules, PG Blues, BG FP 50s, e.60s strat custom set

Actually, I quite like that, but I think it needs more knobbers.
There are 10 kinds of people who understand binary.
Those who do and those who do not.

I know! I kinda made it as a joke then realised it looks fairly funky. I should work for Gibson :(

I like them- Fender do seem to have got themselves together well and exploit their heritage. Gibson would do well to imitate.

Get it patented quick, Gibson are building prototypes as we speak....

(Then again they'll only sell a handful so it's not as if you'd make any money from it!)
BKPs I've Got:  RR, BKP-91, ITs, VHII, CS set, Emeralds
BKPs I Had:  RY+Abraxas, Crawlers, BD+SM

Well the web page is still there. And I suspect there'd be uproar if Fender promised these then didn't deliver.

This has made me revisit one of my all time favourite messageboard threads of all time, the Squier 51 modders' forum. A wonderful mix of outlandish horrorbags and truly individual design classics.

I love all of these designs but I've come to the realisation that I just DONT LIKE Fenders. They're too light and the necks are too skinny.

I'll go buy a Gretsch.
