Question regarding the prewired Strat sets
« on: January 09, 2006, 05:14:43 AM »
I have a Japanese strat, will the prewired pickguard fit? I know that there are a fair few unofficial Strat scratchplates that will not fit my guitar, and it my friend who plays the same guitar claims only the official Fender ones actually do.. of course he could be wrong. Can anyone enlighten me before I take the plunge and order some prewired Irish Tours?

Thanks,
Phil

If you're worries you could send your pickguard in to BKP to have the pickups fitted, or to check they are he same!

My late 80s Jap strat fitted fine everywhere but the bridge, there was more of a gap.

I buy my guards from a variety of sources so as long as I know the exact type I'm sure I can get a match. The Allparts ones are generally very good and fit well on most Fenders.

Well basically so long as it's the same dimensions as standard fender scratchplates it should be ok.

Ok I'm getting close to ordering now.. slowest buyer ever. :x

Thanks. :)

Well they fit every Fender we've supplied so I don't envisage a problem.
