Nope, it's the same bridge p/u. I think that's due to a few things:
1. Absolute first attempt at using mixing and mastering programs.
2. The "amp" wasn't my actual mic'd 6505 (as heard in the other clip), but a direct Garageband "Indie Fuzz" amp model I tweaked a bit.
3. The main culprit to that effect - I think - is a distinct sounding multiband EQ I mis-used in Izotope's mixing program, Alloy. It's meant to combine two guitar takes into one, but makes for a very large sound even as one track. However, as you said, very low-endy.
If you would, re-listen to the link and then compare it to the one I just tried:
http://soundcloud.com/daveyvsgodzilla/care-to-elaborateThe guitar is much brighter and the drums less "hissy." But obviously the main issue is the guitar tone at it's core. Garageband's amp models in regards to metal basically suck. However, I think a different sort of industrial sound can be struck. That's more or less what I was going for. On the drums, I wanted a gated electro sound combined with a raw 80's garage metal room sound / snare tone. Pretty wonky, I know. :p
