I noticed a nice little reference on one of Keeley's sites about BKP. Hopefully that will bring more business Tim and Steve's way.

I've got pedals by Keeley's main rival - Analogman. I'd say if you are considering buying pedals by either of them go for it.  The Boss pedals are pretty good except that they put cheap components in them.  The modified Boss DS1 just sounds so good.

Another interesting thing I found out is that Fender have done a deal with Keeley so that they will distribute his pedals.

So are Fender taking over in the UK?

Analogman and keeley both do great sounding pedals., I've had far too many of both but often I prefer the Analogman ones (apart from the SD1). The Analogman SD1 is a touch rounder sounding, smoother with less grit and cut. The Keeley works better with Marshalls, just drives them right. The analogman one was a bit to smooth and soft in that application.

Thanks for your comments I already have the SD1 and am using Marshall, so I think Iwill get the SD1 modified.

No Keeley said that it is just the US as he wants to keep his international distributers as they've done him well.  I can't remember which forum I read it on though.

Definitely have the pedal modified as you will get a much better sound. I think Analogman uses the chips from the Tubescreamer is his modified Boss pedals, and that includes the Metalzone if I remember right.

Is it worth sending an old pedal to Keeley to have it modified, rather than buy an already modified version? The reason I ask is because it must cost a bit for shipping alone which surely would outweigh the cost of paying for a new one.

Tim do you buy from Keeley's UK distributor or from Robert himself?

If you contact them directly, you might be able to get a shop soiled version. They seem to get them from time to time.

I got a DS-1 Ultra for £50 including shipping to the UK. All it had was a little scratch where they replaced teh LED.
