Looked at a couple of clips of the MXR disto III. I think it is a bit too gainy for me. The GT OD would be more up my alley, and could be a good straight replacement for the crunchbox... Only issue with this now is that I am very tempted to get more than a simple beefy OD. I am really eying the Vox Ice 9 or the Blackstar HT distortion at the moment, which I feel would give a wider palette of sound to play with.

I think the hot cake would be a bit too similar to the FOD. COuldn't find a demo that what showing all the possibilities though, I haven't really heard the scope of the presence knob.

Still strolling the Proguitarshop catalogue, I cam acrosse the Durham electronics Crazy Horse. That sounds like a hell of a pedal. Doesn't seem to widely distributed on this side of the Atlantic though. A shame, there is plenty of various sounds to be had with this it seems. I quite like the idea of the volt knob. I need to cehck if ther are other combined fuzz : OD pedal out there.

i was just perusing the tonefactor website, and the cusack fuzz screamer appears to be fuzz + od... could be wrong, though (i haven't tried it, that's just from the description)...

the ice 9 is more versatile than the MXR dst 3, it also has more gain, almost double!
