Riff Raff 8 doing Metal!
« on: May 18, 2011, 11:27:05 PM »
So we have a mix! schecter blackjack atx8 loaded with riff raff bridge and neck for all rythm tracks, cleans are the rr neck, riffs are the rr bridge. double tracked on both sides.

the solo however was played with my trusty black dog - mule loaded 7 string.

thanks for listening!

I love the sound of the 8th string!

Awesome playing by the way, very clean and precise.

oh! i'm sorry! i said it was double tracked on both sides but this song was actually just one guitar right and one left!

and thanks! i think i found a good balance between heavy but not muddy. on the low riffs the bass is on the same octave as me and it works quite well!

I think this is a very good example of why sometimes low output humbuckers are the better way to go with metal sounds!!!!

oh man!

I've always loved your clips keven. You know how to play progressive, yet agressive :)

You should make some official clips too  =)
Your music will never be as hard as this!

thank you guys! very flattering!

i like my prog with distinct contrasts, but no subtlety. when i know a band has 7 and 8 strings, i want to hear crushing riffs, not noodly doodles

by the way, this is all real drums too! i don't know what you guys think but i like how we managed to have a modern tone but still keep it organic in the drum sound. guitars are direct line through impulses same for the bass too. but drums are all micced up and we spent =alot= of time on the drum sound.
