I always found Wilko Johnson quite scary, with that intense stare and stiff, jerky movements.  Seems like a nice bloke when you see him interviewed though.

Indeed - very scary looking. He really means it when he plays though. I must admit that his 'style' of playing has always put me off him, a bit odd really. I've never really listened to him play. Is he any good?

I don't actually own any Dr Feelgood or Solid Senders albums, I must admit.  I've only seen Wilko in film footage on TV, and his mannerisms are distracting, but my impression is that he's a really good R&B rhythm/lead player with a great percussive tone.  Not a "guitar hero", but not everyone needs to be!
