I've got an unfinished swamp ash Strat body at home - I'm getting Sienna Sunburst GAS!

One thing I've never gleaned in my years on this forum is a good place to get (re)finishes done....

Speak to Jonathan - find out where he gets his done.

I seem to remember a year or so back that Wez found someone that does nice finishes as well? I think the guy was just starting out on guitars after doing paint jobs on something else.

EDIT: Just realised I haven't commented on the guitar in this thread - looked at it several times - very nice telerocker :D (even if it does have a humbucker and a two point trem and too many frets! )

Yeah, you're right, that does ring a bell.  The finishes on Jon's guitars always look great, I wonder what his guy would charge?

Lovely Strat, I'd have dead chuffed to have scored that. The suggestion for a nickel cover HB was interesting. It certainly looked funky. Then I thought that would super cool if the SC's had nickel covers too. I don't know if such a thing exists though. Maybe Trussart has done it.

:)   It's def. not a vintageplank, but comfy / versatile for three/four sets nonstop covers. Anyway, thx for all the kind replies and  reccommendations. I'm thinking about VHII/ MM's.

It looks very nice.  For an HSS set, my favourite is Stormy Monday 2 Sultans.   It is a great set for all classic rock stuff and is versatile enough to go from blues through funk to hard rock/light metal.  I have a VHII with my Mother's Milks in an alder body strat.  My swamp ash is an 80's machine with a Holy Diver and 2 Trilogy Suites - that could be a good combination for you too.

I like the Diver, but don't know about the Trilogy Suites. I need that vintage singlecoilquack for all the old funk-stuff. The bucker should rock out for searing solo's in a PAF-ish way. That's why I thought VHII/MM's.

It's done: VHII + Mother's Milk in my ash American Series strat. The VHII is bally's with nice chime too it. The Mother's Milk have this early sixties woodiness. The neckpickup is too die for. The in-between-sounds are very Fenderish, quacky and sparkly.
Further: customshop cts-pots and cloth wire.
