Have you been watching any of the coverage?

See anything good?

I just managed to stay awake through half an Elbow set.  Pretty impressive eh?

I've not seen much of it to be honest. I must be getting old though as I got bored very quickly and turned over to watch a documentary.
I think I hate being indecisive.

I think the BBC coverage hasn't been great this year.  Seems like the same four or five bands have just been on a constant loop.

I've been flicking between BBC2, BBC3, Red Button and Radio 6 for a couple of days.

There's loads of good bands there, but last night we got an hour of Jimmy Eat World Sucks Balls.
Advice worth what you just paid for it.

I've seen the odd bit but haven't been too impressed by much tbh.

I saw Biffy Clyros set and the sound in general was absolutely awful, had to turn it off after about 10 minutes.

Saw a bit of a band called Mumford & Sons (I think), got bored after half a song and turned it off.

I don't like U2 or Coldplay so didn't watch those, saw a bit of an american R n' B singer whose name escapes me, wasn't bad but not really my thing. Chemical Brothers were on too and I caught a bit of it while flicking around. I really don't see the point of that sorta stuff at festivals (or in general  ) as there's nothing to see on stage apart from 2 or 3 guys stood behind a computer in the middle of the stage.

Do they ever actually show full sets?

Whenever I flick over to BBC3 it seems to be some tw@t like Fearne Cotton just wittering on about something.  I must admit I don't have the patience to wait even a few seconds in those circumstances....
BKPs I've Got:  RR, BKP-91, ITs, VHII, CS set, Emeralds
BKPs I Had:  RY+Abraxas, Crawlers, BD+SM

I'd really love someone on the BBC to say what they really though about some of the performances. Not sure I could bite my tongue and lie through my teeth about it. I suppose they are on contracts that require them to keep "the talent" sweet.

Your right there. It used to be full of crustys and CND supporters.  They have Beyonce on now with loads of screaming kids.

Yeah I noticed a big difference between about 1995 and the last time I went in about 2005.

It's gone really commercial.  So much so that you even have to pay to get in now.

I'm glad I went when it was a proper alternative music festival....

i have worked there a couple of times - making pasta jewellery in the kids field and artsy crafty stuff like that.  free entry and working 12-2 everyday, much better than the oxfam lot who do 8 hour shifts and have to do one night on duty

i like it, but i wouldnt go just for the music. never see everyone i want anyway with the travel between stages.

its still a much better/friendlier experience than reading/leeds and much less commercial than something like V (i was made to go in 2003 :( ).  take a wander with a few drinks, sit and talk to people  you meet and just see whats going on

the wife is currently watching beyonce... tricky came on for a little bit of a song... looking rather frail but it could have added some credibility if he had done anything other than whisper a few lines into a mic and disappeared again to make room for dancers

oh, but the coverage is always shoddy.  I am fairly sure they could record more than 3 of the stages and never play the same thing twice

they have 4 or 5 red button channels playing the same cr@p over and over again.  i would love it if they did say 3 of those showing highlights  and the remaining always playing something else from the festival.  My best experiences are on the smaller stages which dont get a look in from the beeb

I've only been once back in 82. The wonderful thing then was a total lack of affluent looking people. However if they continue the new trend of Tories doing an Elvis I might become interested again.
