ok so the twist isn't that big i just put that there to make everyone read this lol hehehe.
!!!!!!!!!!(SKIP TO END IF YOU CAN'T BE ARSED TO READ THIS)!!!!!!!!!!!
anyway i just bought a rose morris avon or avon rose morris, what ever you want to call it, les paul copy for £40. HOWEVER, it has no pickups, no bridge, no machineheads, no electronics e.t.c e.t.c. basically, it's just the body and neck (oh and the tailpiece as well).
now... i ordered my BKP-92 with tap (its a '92 with the wind of a '90 as well) last week, so now i'm looking for a pair of humbuckers, that will contrast my new p-90, to put in the rose morris.
the twist (or problem lol) is that i don't really know what the p-90 is gonna sound like yet, or even what it's meant to sound like. you see when i ordered it i asked Tim for a pickup that could cut through in the mix of my band, with the other guitarist using a cr@ppy marshall (avt-50 to be precise). the one thing i DIDN'T ask tim, was what exactly the '92 and '90 are meant to sound like, but to be honest i don't care because i didn't/don't have a particular sound in mind. i'm sure by now, some of you clever clogs will have realised the situation. for those stupid fools who can't understand my clear explanation ( ) here's a simplified version:
i want the humbuckers to contrast with the p-90 but i'm not sure what the p-90 is gonna sound like. i know what some of you are saying now......
your saying "what an idiot, i mean whichever h/b's he picks, they're gonna sound completely different to the p-90!"
i know this, but i want the h/b's COMPLETELY different to the p-90------ complete other end of the sound spectrum. this is because i'm only 14 and simply can't afford to have loads of guitars, each one catering for a specific sound. so basically in the end it all comes down to the next sentance, and you really didn't need to read that stupid waffling you just ploughed through lol, here we go:
what combination of humbuckers, in a rose morris avon les paul copy, will provide the total opposie sound to my bkp-92 with a tap???? now i don't mind if this h/b combo is heavy metal or good ol' vintage but it needs to clash with the sound of my p-90.
APOLOGY: i am genuinely sorry for the ridiculous amounts of writing and most of it is a load of cr@p. i've probably repeated myself about 1000,0000 times and still haven't conveyed my point very clearly. having said that, i do think i should win an award for longest post ever- i mean come on i've basically written an essay!!!
