I realised I have a DS-1 in my ME-50 so put everything on 10 and it's good but still not as nice as a HM-2.  Make me wish I'd bought the HM-2 I found for $60 in a shop 16 years ago  :(

funny the hm-2 is now a hot item.. it was hated for years!

would suggest miracle men for the V

Nah already have the miracle man in my exotic mockingbird. Too fluffy for this baby. This is going to be fitted with nailbombs. If i dont like them, then i'll get a cold sweat instead.

Now gwem Which pickup finish should i go for? :D

Chrome hardware, yeah? Brushed nickel covers with black hex poles. If black hardware, black covers with nickel hex poles.

Burnt chrome?
If I may suggest another change : get another knob for that pot. I hate those chrometops Gibson uses on the V.
A black Strat or Tele style knob would look a lot classier.

No- a skull.
And get a diamond-plate pickguard.

Personally I'm not a fan of the diamond plate pickguards. A bit too Stockholm death metal for my likings...
The skull knob is a cool idea though PDT_015

Nothing from that post was an honest suggestion.

A diamond plate is too metallica for my liking.

And stockholm death metal is the only real form of death metal! But it has nothing to do with diamond plates :S

Update. got a 500 k pot from a friend.

Im actually considering either a black cover with gold screws(since im going to order a gold babicz bridge some day)

OR im going with a uncovered pub with black/green bobbins and getting a green knob to compliment it

So where do you put the whole Florida scene that basically spawned death metal as a valid genre?
Morbid Angel, Obituary, Death...?
Don't worry, I'm not going to derail your thread by arguing about something that boils down to personal taste

I like your idea of going uncovered black/green.

 its a well known fact that black Vs look great with mirror guards ;)

i've never liked black Vs, though I do have two of them - an Epi Gothic, and a Feline. The matt black on the gothic is something I do prefer to a shinier finish.. with the Feline, its got white binding which I feel adds alot to the look.

am always out of ideas when it comes to customising black Vs like this one. in fact, i was quite impressed you did something cool with it when i first saw the pics a few months ago.

black pickups, black/white/black scratchplate and gold hardware could look really nice.

or maybe i would think about a refin in a natural oil finish - would also look really nice with gold hardware.

i had a miracle man in the feline for a couple of days and it was pure grind. though i think we have a different idea of what that word means ;) good luck with the nailbomb!
