Yep, New Fish Day!
My eldest decided that he wants a pet - initially it was a rabbit, then he reduced his offer to a guinea pig, and we finally settled on a small aquarium!
Spent loads of time reading up on the subject, getting the tank, treating and conditioning the water (amonia/nitrite/nitrate cycle - who knew?!?!). And yesterday we bought 4 red & black platies and introduced them. Was a slightly anxious night - we felt like new parents again - but we came down this morning to 4 apparently healthy and happy fish!
