thanks so far everyone, orange are looking the best bet at this point, although slightly more expensive than i was wanting to go. Only thing that put me off the dark terror was the fact it was one channel, i really need a footswitchable clean/dirty. So far its looking like the Orange Thunder TH30 Combo.....! Had a quick look at blackstar but the gain just sounded too thin. oh and i checked out the traynor but its out of stock :(

yeah. they normally get them back into stock fairly soon (some of the other traynor stuff says they have a shipment due in september, i think? so maybe there'll be some ycv50s along with that one), but it depends on how big a rush you're in. and also, if you've never tried a traynor, if you're willing to take a risk on something you haven't tried.

If you like the Terror price, 30W, and two channels, why not get a Dual Terror? It doesn't have quite as much gain as the Dark Terror or the TH30, but it has a good lot.
If you ever want a Terror to really roar like a proper amp, slap some Mercury Magnetics transformers in.

Thanks for the tip, but i think im gonna go all out and just get a TH30 Head to go with my laney cab (8ohm by the way, im assuming this would be ok?), until i can upgrade the cabinet and/or speakers. The sound out of it on the youtube vids is awesome, just need to find one to have a fiddle with before i buy online, although from the strength of reviews im tempted to just jump in and buy it asap!
