Missed this first time round.

And I have to say, much to my shock and amazement, I quite like the look of it! :lol:

Forgive my ignorance (can't follow the links) - I'm assuming this guitar has some sort of Kiss reference? Is the "Paul", quoted above, Mr Stanley?

'Tis Paul Gilbert, but i think that a Paul Stanley inspired Fireman would be quite cool

No, Paul Stanley is associated with the Iceman (or, more correctly, the PS-10, which he would assert is a TOTALLY DIFFERENT guitar which just happens to be the same shape  :lol: ).

Gilbert designed the Fireman by reversing a picture of an Iceman and playing around with the features to suit him.

believe me i've been keeping a close eye on this one - its been coming on and off european mail order sites for a while. was even on thomann for a bit(!)

No doubt there'll come a point when they suddenly appear at UK dealers, albeit for a short time....

I guess they're having problems with the production and it keeps getting delayed, so sites put them up, and then take them down when they don't get stock

The delay might be something to do with a recall on the the tone pot! ???

Pretty silly reason for a recall.

I don't like the fact they're talking about advance-ordering these things.  I'd be happier paying for something which actually exists.....

The neck joint looks a bit weird in those pics - it's like a bolt-on which has been glued.  Why not just smooth it away so there's no "step", like an old V (or a Feline)?

IIRC, the pukka one (to use Philly's phrase :) ) also that weird neck joint. I think it /looks/ stylish, but of course I have no view on playability or tone.

Like Philly, I have doubts about preordering. I'd have no problem buying this sight unseen over the net (more fool me I guess), but I'd want it to be at least in stock.

Mine will be going straight down to Feline for a custom pickguard to be made.
