« on: August 29, 2011, 01:50:06 PM »
Hey,
I'm looking at getting a tele as my next guitar. I'm on a budget of around £500. what would you recommend getting for this budget and why? include mods such as pickups etc in that budget =)
Cheers

I guess you get a used USA-tele for that money.

Yeah, I see a lot of MIJ Telecasters. You should try and go for one of them. Pickups can wait if you can get a good quality built guitar like them.

i used to have a pair of g&l's, very nice but not better than my current u.s.fender with blackgaurd f50's(the old one's)
incidently it cost £500 on ebay before the pup's but was 'as new' .the stock pups where fine and did everything they
should do but the blackguards do have a different flavour and are full of character.(and are staying!)
if you want to stay within budget inclusive of pups a mim tele will do fine.
