My second bk set ...Miracle man and...which one??
« on: August 31, 2011, 02:13:34 AM »
Recenty, I bought a c-pig and a cold sweat and I'm so satisfied that i want to change my set of my dean razorback explosion. I want this guitar for sharp and agressive tones like arch enemy, and bands like children of bodom, nightrage...and more clasical stuff like megadeth and metallica , I think MM its the best option , isn't it? for the neck, i don't know how to buy...maybe a riff raff? I want a pick that fits well with the MM but maybe a bit different...I donˇt want the cold sweat beacause I have it in other guitar...can you help me??? thanks guys !

All of those bands use either EMGs or some sort of clone of an EMG. You would want something with high output, clarity, and a flat EQ.

The miracle man neck would work extremely well its like a cold sweat on steroids!

But for a different flavour use a mississippi Queen in the neck it works extremely well with the MM and is fat powerful and cuts extremely well.

Its also got some really lush cleans that can be woody and acoustic with the right amp EQ and the lead tones are to die for.

I use the MM & MQ combo for metallica, megadeth, testament exodus etc

and i imagine it would also work extremely well for the arch enemy type leads tones etc too

I Have had emg 707 and SD blackouts and by far, I prefer the tone that gives me a passive pickup. I don't mind if the output is a bit less than an active one ( just switch on the TS hehehe ) ;)

Then, have you looked at the EMG-HZ series or DiMarzio D Activators?
I have a set of D Activators sitting around, and they're actually pretty good. Worth checking out, at least...

If BKP's naming makes any kind of sense, the Miracle Man should be voiced somewhat like Zakk Wylde's EMGs, no?
Or am I missing the point?

I think a MM would be a good fit for the kind of music you mention, going by the description of the pickup, not by personal experience unfortunately.

I prefer Toe-Knee's suggestion of MM + MQ or MM + MM - especially as we're on the BKP forums! :)

MM + MQ def. makes it versatile.

Also, the feeling of telling metal purists that that "ripping tone" you have is the result of a P90, and of course the looks on their faces along with it is absolutely priceless!

I Dig the VHII neck or Aftermath neck with the Miracle Man too, but yeah, the Miracle Man is just an A5 bridge model AFAIK, which makes it an EMG85 clone.
