before you think it im not selling it!!!
it was in the salford sound control store about ten months back. ive not been since then so i dont no if it has been sold.
i believe its a 1968 model or somethin im not really sure.i didnt bother askin as they wudnt talk to you bout it unless you were willing to pay the £10,000 price tag,and yes that is the actual price.its nakerd as well.
it was cordaned off in the centre of the ground floor, they almost made a shrine to it.they advertise it as the one he used as his main les paul in the led zep years.
they also had a custom shop gibson of wich ther was an article in Guitar Buyer magazine named "gibson on fire". the fret board was smothered in abolone and mother of pearl,a sunburst flame top with a price tag of £8,999.it was quite something to look at.i think i was looking at it for about an hour before i realized that the price wasnt magicly going to change to £600 so i cud afford it.it was also suspended in a glass cabinet with pieces of foam below just in case it fell.

id buy the jimmy page one as investment but it wud probly play like a bitch anyway so it wud annoy me if i did try to play it.

are you sure it isnt just the Gibson Custom Shop copy? There are three different versions in the range, and one retails around £10K.

I'd think that too.

I'm sure JP's actual axe would be worth more than £10k to investor/fans

no they asure me its the actual one.sound control tend to sell things a little cheaper because they are such a big company. still i see your point,it is a custom shop one after all, suggesting a higher price tag but it definately was a gibson custom shop

Im very doubtful that Jimmi's guitar would be sold by sound control. Guitars owned by famous people are usually sold at auction and will fetch well over the 10k mark.

Page's No.1 LP isn't a '68 and would probably go for over £1m at auction.

It was probably a recent production relic. There's a few models that have been out over the years. He said in Guitar magazine that he would never sell it. If he did, he would most deffinatly get at least £1,000,000 for it.

The most recent limited run Page model was selling for that price. No way it's Jimmy's.

:D Sorry Dude i have to agree with the rest of the guys....It`s not Jimmys actuall Gibbo it`s one of the gibbo custom shop copys that Gibson made recently, they where retailing for 10K each.  :(

Page actually played each of the 50 guitars that Gibson made inorder to help them sell. Page owned several LP`s from `58 to `61  Models.  I think of hand his No1 was a 59 model but i could be wrong.

As for the price for the real thing i think the last time i heard Pages No1 guitar was valued at 250K but that was a while back.

And a 58 LP standard by itself goes for over $200 000
