Which pick-up do i need? (humbucker -nailbomb or something like that)

Hi ! Im the new guy and im from Denmark, so dont please dont eat me ;)

I am so tired of the JB-4 thats in my Jackson sl1 usa select. way too sloppy.

My setup is:
Mesa boogie dual rectifier solo head (early 90') very nice.
Marshall 1960a loaded with eminence the govenor and the wizard.
Jackson soloist 90' too.

Its a "dont $%&# with me" setup, so it tears me apart that the pick-up in my beloved jackson is shite.

Now -which pick-up do i need?
I have been requested the nailbomb and i think it sounds pretty good. I want that tight chugga chugga but still fast thrashy sound.
Uhm i play metal inspired by pantera, death, lamb of god, bloodbath, nevermore etc.

Hi!

It sounds like you're after a ceramic pickup, based on your description.
The Miracle Man would be my first recommendation: it's extremely tight, with a very chunky lower midrange and a wicked top end sizzle.
Secondly the Cold Sweat is a brighter pickup with a similar vibe to the Miracle Man. It's a more old school sound, but still extremely tight in the low end.
Finally, the Aftermath could also be worth considering, though the mids are a lot more forward, which may or may not be your style.

now how do i now all the sizes? i mean is it 50 / 53 and the leg length etc. ? :)

i cant really hear the difference between the miracle and the bomb  :P
But im sure its nice :)

all in all, I just think my sound right now is too undefined. Thats probably the word.

Assuming the Jackson has a Floyd, you want 53mm.  And short legs would probably be best.

No, the Nailbomb isn't way off at all - to be honest you would probably be happy with any of the contemporary BKPs. I just feel that since clearly you're not after extreme versatility here you would probably enjoy the unrelenting aggression the ceramic models offer.

Can i buy a pick-up and if its not me, return it and get the money back. Of course in mint condition.

Yeah.. for that Jackson, a MM is prolly awesome.
I find them boring in Mahogany tho..    Ceramic NB would be awesome too..  a bit more mids.

Even tho I play mostly very hi gain, I do like Alnico more than caramic...   they seem to be more articulate.

In a jackson, I would go ceramic tho I think..  Nailbombs.  I like the fatness.

I got painkillers, warpigs, miracle men and a cpig 90 lying around. Donovan at librium down at "kultorvet" got a few axes with cold sweats, warpigs, nailbombs and a miracle man lying around too. the best way to figure out which pickup you like the best is to try them, right :)

the ceramic nailbomb sounds like a great option for your setup and style

can't say that's the best option cause I never played this particular version
but having tried the alnico nailbomb, cold sweat and miracle man, I would guess the ceramic nailbomb would be right between all three models
and that couldn't be anything less than amazing

I had the Miracle Man and the Cold Sweat bridge in the same guitar. Both excellent, the Cold Sweat noticeably brighter than the Miracle Man. From the descripitons the C-Bomb should fall right between those two.

IMHO you cannot make a mistake with either the Miracle Man or the C-Bomb. The Cold Sweat may hit you with too much brightness after having played the JB.
