the missus has a burny - i think its pretty decent, similar standard to my agile.

A new one or an older one?  I think the current ones are made in China, but of course the '70s to '90s ones were built in various factories in Japan.

its a newer one which i got on a trip to japan, never played it, and then got suckered into giving it to her (no regrets though, since she loves the guitar).

i'm assuming its a made in china to be honest (don't know 100%). but its made of the pukka woods (albeit a number of pieces), and plays well.

I've never played a Burny myself, but i know that when Duff McKagan, a man who could afford whatever guitar he wanted, toured with his band Loaded, he chose to use a pair of Burny Les Paul's as his stage guitars

Chose or was paid though? He has some sort of affiliation with Fernandes/Burny doesn't he?

does he?  i wasn't aware of that.  he uses Fender basses.  i know Dave Kushner, Velvet Revolver's other guitarist, had a Fernandes signature model, so i'm sure Duff would have at least have had some contact with them that way.

As far as I know, Duff isn't using new Burnys, but older Japanese ones.  I wouldn't have thought there's an endorsement deal there.

So that's where I've heard the name Burny from. I remember seeing him play one
